I wanted to follow up on my previous post on the check many of you will receive from Uncle Sam. In order to receive the check in May, $600 each for mom and dad if filing joint, and an additional $300 for each child, you have to file your return by April 15th. As always, not everybody will get, since if you make too much money in the government point of view, you don’t need it…

If you qualify, but are waiting for a K1 or other outstanding document, you might just want to file and then file a 1040x (amended return) once you have the document.

I am still disgusted how our government is throwing out our money just for political purposes. As I had alluded before, this will have very little impact on the economy since it is a one time check and will not change people’s habits.
