Hi everyone,

Shelley wrote and asked me if she needed a will, even tough she has very few assets now that her child is born. The answer to that is an absolute YES!

It is not for her assets necessarily, but she needs to designate a guardian in case of her and her husband’s premature passing. You don’t want the State to decide on that. Since you should also have a term life insurance policy, you might want to think about who would take care of that sudden windfall of money.

At another time, I will write about who should be a guardian and how you should go about getting the right documents.

Have a great day!

Patrick
